Love is the glue which holds everything together. This is one of the major teachings, and, while it looks simple, it is difficult to do unless you read and understand Scripture thoroughly.

Louise tells the story of Dr. Kenneth Hagin facing members of his congregation in a loving, but, strong fashion. He was honest and frank, something often lacking from those who instruct and teach on Christianity these days.

Louise talks today about the importance of the need to grow spiritually. When growing up she had no feeling of responsibility to grow up as a Christian.

She just went through the motions, church, Sunday School, etc.

A very good book by Kenneth E. Hagin, Growing Up Spiritually, is the book she refers to in this lesson.

Actions as a Christian do have consequences.

What you did in your life before today is in the past. You can’t change it. But, you can change and adapt to God’s principles and instructions from this day on.

Check out anyone teaching on Christianity in Church, Small Groups, Sunday School, with the word of God. What you may have learned—denominational teaching—may not conform to actual Scripture.

This is especially true with “baby,” or new, Christians. Much of this lesson moves through Louise’s exhortation to make your learning and teaching conform to Scripture, especially after being born again, but, then, equally important, following through with the actual teachings in Scripture.

Warning Against Unbelief

Romans 6 Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. Ephesians 4: 24- Instructions for Christian Living 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger do not sin”[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Louise tell us we are always looking for an easy way out, living in fact a defeated life.

As a Christian, you want to live with a spirit like God wishes for you. Hard to do.

God wants you to put on new fresh clothes every day, speaking metaphorically.

You need to wash in the word of God every day. We need to see ourselves how God sees us, and desires us to be.

Some elements to consider on how to grow and live as a Christian.

1. A mature Christian is always able to teach others.

2. Developing depth of understanding

3. Practice, practice, practice all the time.

4. Self-evaluation. You need to evaluate yourself against what God’s word tells us.

Pastor Louise Teaching on Your Flesh and God’s Message, Labor Day, Sept. 4 2023

Your flesh is your biggest problem. If you are not born again, you are ruled by your flesh and its own unregenerated spirit.

But when you are born again, you begin to operate as a new person. Paul wrote in Chapter Seven of Romans. I am doing what I ought not to do, I feel discouraged and defeated. How do I overcome this?

Your mind and spirit have to come into agreement with God’s word. Then the flesh will come into agreement with your mind and spirit. Louise also touches on fasting and eating everything she liked. Then she made up her mind to control her appetite. Crucifying your flesh means saying “no” to your flesh.

Pornography also addressed as a not-to-subtle way to drag you into the flesh.

” 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[d] because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of[e] his Spirit who lives in you. 12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

Louise Teaching on Healing Tuesday Aug. 29 2023

How to be healed her subject this morning, still with Book of Proverbs.

There are doors we can open and we can close in the area of forgiveness.

Mark 11:22-25:

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Apostle Mark

Forgiveness is one of the doors–the main door–that opens up to healing.

Unforgiveness is like a clog in the pipeline–and you need Drano–to clear the pathway to God and allow God to hear you.

Forgiveness is God’s mercy. As God shows us mercy, we need to show mercy to others.

Forgiveness is a main door to healing.

In her jail ministry, unforgiveness stops the process of healing. Need your metaphorical bottle of Drano to unstop unforgiveness and allow for healing.

Mercy is the key to forgiveness.

There are two types of forgiveness.

One, forgiving others. Tough to do. But it is necessary to get right with God. You have to put aside a “get even” attitude. That is not the mercy and love which God wants you to walk in. Once you have truly forgiven someone, you can move forward. But it you have been bullied or picked on in much of your life, and if the other person won’t admit to saying or doing something wrong, you need to put that person aside, they are not friends. Let it go, don’t retaliate.

You may need to put up a barrier against people in all sorts of relationships that may be harming you. God does not want you to live in an abusive relationship 

The second type of forgiveness is where the person who insulted or took you down also accepts her role as someone who has asked for forgiveness for her acts. Both you and the person who hurt you have moved forward in forgiveness.

If one does not forgive, you can develop a sense of rebellion. King David often was hurt and insulted, but he forgave, and God accepted him back into His embrace. God’s character was often reestablished in Paul’s life due to his forgiveness.

God always has an answer. But it you are stuck in the past, you will never move forward into God’s plan for you.

Louise also touched on forgiving one’s self. God will forgive everything. Read 1 John 1:9
