Louise teaching on offenses in two lessons. First thing is forgiveness. With her girls in jail ministry, for example, they need to get past unforgiveness, bitterness, pain, etc. We all need to get past these hurts. Dr. Larry Ollison’s book on offcnses is very good. Great story about monkeys holding on to something, and calling down death on themselves. Just listen to teaching above. Do you have a chip on your shoulder? Need to throw it off. Offenses need to be set aside and than walk in love. Louise speaks that she has learned from her own experiences in getting offended and then walking in love. How do you get past offenses and then walk in love? “The girls in my jail ministry are surrounded by contentious, argumentative, condeming people.” How to deal with them? Ignore them as much as possible. God will defend you; you don’t need to have the last word in any argument. Seven reasons in the taking offenses lesson:
- Insensitivity. What crazy things pop in your mouth without being filtered. If you can’t curb your mouth, just don’t talk.
- Take authority over your thoughts. God isn’t going to jump in and correct you. You are the central guard of your thoughts and words.
